I seek to capture how your family interacts with each other, plays, loves & cares for one another. I may provide cues or suggestions of poses throughout our time together, but know that I may be clicking that shutter button at any point during the shoot--even if we're just walking to our next shooting spot. We won't be stressed about time, or if your children are on their best behavior. I'm wonderful with kids, insanely patient and desire relaxed parents as they are key for a wonderful session together! Everyone thinks their kiddos are going to be the worst--they're not, I promise--let me do my job and we'll do just fine!

100% YES! I do request a preview of selected outfits prior to your session date/time to ensure you will look your best!

When selecting what to wear, I recommend finding on outfit or dress that will start as your inspiration piece. This piece will usually be a print with a number of colors to choose from to aide in the coordination of what your other family members will wear. When in doubt, add layers, textures, & accessories to add depth and interest! For the littles, sometimes bringing their favorite stuffed love-y along can also be a great addition. For the guys, please empty your pockets and leave the sunglasses in the car--hats I'm okay with as long as they coordinate with the outfits. I carry a separate bag with me to hold any personal effects for you, for your convenience!

Yes, a client must provide at least a 72 hour notice of cancellation to reschedule without a fee. If you should need to cancel for any reason less than 72 hours prior to your scheduled time will result in foregoing your original deposit and will require a new deposit to get rescheduled.

Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather and while we are in South Dakota we always seem to be in for some surprises. If weather changes and is no longer ideal for shooting--as to be discussed between client & photographer of any concerns prior to our session time--I will do my best to get you rescheduled ASAP at no additional charge.

I hear this all the time. "We really just need one good photo for Christmas cards!" If this is you, try to take advantage of mini session days if & when they are available. Or, take advantage of the BRANCH package offerings.

Timeline of completion and delivery of your gallery varies based off of the session type. You will typically see your gallery delivered within four weeks of your session date.

You are not required to order prints through me, although it is highly recommended for quality assurance.

No, deposits are not refundable for any reason. If you need to cancel, the deposit will go towards your rescheduled session.

Your gallery will be delivered electronically via Pixieset and is shareable & downloadable at your convenience! The gallery will be available online for up to 90 days following delivery.

Is a beach or the mountains involved?! If so, I'd ask you to cover my travel expenses and I'd shoot your wedding at no charge.

No, the .RAW files will not be available for any reason. And, trust me, you don't want them. Trust me, you don't want them.

This is pretty common, luckily, I have a pretty easy approach to guiding them through the session. And often hear, "oh that wasn't so bad!" after the session is over.

A second shooter is available at an additional cost.

No, you will not receive every single photo captured during our time together. You will receive all of the best ones, including those expressions that may seem imperfect to me, but may be your favorite look that your kiddo makes. I want you to have all of those!

YES! This is an absolute yes as long as the shooting location permits dogs!

If they are not off-leash trained, I do ask that they have a coordinating leash--not a fluorescent orange--or something that will clash with the family attire.

Yes, we do have opportunities to shoot indoors whether that's within your own home, or on location, or at a local studio available for rent.

No, this is completely unnecessary. You've hired me to pose you to ensure you look your best!

I can certainly understand that budget is of great concern to many when deciding which photographer to work with. I unfortunately cannot offer incentives or reduced pricing on my products & services. I highly value the experience I provide to my clients from start to finish and hope that you will, too.

When natural light is available, I'll use it. If not available, I'll create my own.

This entirely depends on what your needs are, I would recommend at least a few weeks to a month or so when entering the busy Fall season.

Absolutely! I have quite a few favorite spots in Sioux Falls, SD. I am always on the lookout for new favorite places to shoot and happy to offer up location ideas depending on the vibe you're going for. We will decide on location together in our pre-planning email/call.

I do love the early morning light or in the evening during the 'golden hour'. However, depending on the little's schedules, we can shoot at any time during the day.

Let's face it, dressing your kids up in clothes they don't normally wear and expect them to stay stain free until shooting time can be one of the most challenging quests we can face as parents. Try to remember, this is supposed to be fun and enjoyable for all. Let your kids be kids--I've got this! I work hard within the first few minutes to gain their trust and their interest to ensure we can have a successful session together. Even when you think the session couldn't be going any worse because your littles are cooperating--you'd be surprised what memorable shots can be captured.

I highly encourage bringing whatever would help you and your family feel most comfortable. I would recommend bringing easier/less messy snacks, if snacks are needed.
